JANAZA - a comedy play

Janaza is based on the comedy play written by famous hindi writer Sharad Joshi named "Ek Tha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan". The play expossed the hypocricy prevalant in the various sectors of the society. It shows how our leaders, government officials and so called social workers exploit the feelings of the common people to suit their vested interests.

CONTENT OF PLAY :
In this play the Netaji wants to earn the praise and honour which would touch the masses. this motive is purely selfish and not moral. he is soon informed by the Kotwal about the death of aperson named Aladad Khan which is deeply mourned by the local people.Netaji gets a brainwave and decides to attend the funneral and make a memorable speech, thus proving his plan and the down to earth nature. But as the plot unfolds it is brought to light that Aladad Khan was infact a donkey and not a person.
Netaji is deeply troubled by the thought that he would become a laughing stock in front of the commoners. But he is spared the trouble because his sttooges catch hold of an innocent man by that name and put him to death. Netaji is thus succesful in keeping up his good name and hiding the blunder.

MESSAGE FROM PLAY :
This play is insight of the lives of the people forming various parts of our society. It shows how gullible the citizens are and how easily they are misguideed by the false promises and big words. It tells us how the people we consider our leaders are slowly licking the roots of our society like termites.

MY CHARACTER :
I am an ordinary citizen of state who create humour in every situation of the play. He is a bindass person, unemployed around 25 years old. Used to sit at pan shop within the groups of people & throw tantrums on everyone. Misguided Kotwal on death news of an "ASS-ALADAD KHAN". Presented news as the died person is a man "ALADAD KHAN". This is the turning point of story. For this character m not shaved for 25 days & go for a short hair cut.
